ISG Publications

Welcome !!

ISG.bkgd2ISG Publications was established in 1989. It is always the intention of ISG Publications / ISG Music Promotions to support artists and their pursuit for truth, beauty, expression and discovery, as they see fit. We are supporters of the arts and focus on the under-represented (like double bass, cello, modern composition, the avante-garde, mixed-media). We welcome collaborations and inquiry!

July 2018: We returned to Bellingham, WA.  Check out our new web site which includes new symphonic music, new music for media, new pedagogy, and new bass concertos.

January 2022: Our expanded offerings are now available at numerous retail sheet music sites throughout the USA and Europe. Please inquire about our unique publications at your favorite music store. PDF versions of many of our publications are only available via our outlet site: isgmusic.com

March 2022: We have moved several titles to “Out of Print” status (see our blog pages for out of print titles listing). If you really want something that is Out of Print, please inquire about obtaining a legacy copy. It may be possible depending on the composer and our right(s) to disseminate the particular piece.

December 2022: Unfortunately, like everything, our production costs have gone up. We have had to increase our prices a “wee” bit. We are still keeping them as low as possible so that musicians can afford and will use our publications. You’ll hopefully appreciate that we don’t use .99 cent pricing! 🙂 ha ha!

March 2023: Ah, Spring! What with the amount of snow we are having, it’s a great time to hone your performance! Speaking of practicing: See our new pedagogy for contrabass, and violin on our Premiere Pedagogy Page. Or perhaps you need to add new performance repertory to your library!? We offer some really exciting contemporary and older era pieces for you to study and perform: chamber music, solo music for violin, viola, cello, contrabass (double bass), piano, and selected winds (like flute, bass flute, bassoon, tuba, clarinet). There are also wonderfully dramatic pieces for voice (tenor and soprano). Of special note: we just completed the A. Borodin Grand Trio in G Major. So, it’s no longer just two (lovely!) movements! Now you can present a complete(d) trio by Borodin (and Neher) on your chamber music concerts! Woo hoo!

November 2023: Speaking of Chamber Music, we just added a new trio to the CAM series of innovative trios. In this case, AgroDolces (which means sweet and sour, in Italian) for piano trio, by Patrick Neher. The piece is a bit of sweet and sour, to be sure, and written for the virtuoso violin and cello team, Nancy Bean and Lloyd Smith of Philadelphia Orchestra fame. This approximately 18 minute piece has four dance movements and explores the gamut of lyrical range of all three instruments. Purchase AgroDolces for violin, cello and piano on our violin or cello or piano pages. Cheers!

May 2024: Another great year of musical activities have enhanced our offerings. Patrick Neher and Martin Kennedy recently completed a new House Concert CD of Three Sonatinas for Contrabass and Piano. This capstone recording was done in March 2024 at Acoustic Art Studio, in Bellingham, Washington USA. See details and purchase it (also available in USB2 thumb drive) on our recordings page. Also, we have dropped a few prices (even close to FREE – see Double Stop Study #2 for Contrabass), and raised a few prices. New Music sales have taken a nose-dive along with the rest of the economy. But we are ever-optimistic that YOU will be interested in mind-stimulating music!

October 2024: We are on a short hiatus to clear our minds and strengthen our resolve to presenting the finest of new music, specializing in contemporary and unusual or neglected titles for contrabass and/or cello. We’ll be back at sales in November.

Here we will post sporadic news about our company. See our Blog and Stay Tuned!
