– Inquiries and Submitting

We support today’s composers!
Publishing contemporary music is challenging, to say the least! But we are always up for a challenge, and very supportive of  interesting, innovative music that features the double bass or the cello, in prominent roles in concert solo or chamber music. If you have a composition that “fits the bill,” email us a score (pdf) and a recording (mp3) if you have it (it can be a midi realization or actual players). We will review the piece and consider it for publication. Submit Now via Email.

After a call for composers in 2007/8 we received more than 100 compositions. Of those we chose around seven to be published. Our guidelines are strict and they change with the times, but generally we are looking for pieces that are challenging to the performers, yet are lyrical and accessible to audiences (but not necessarily “Neo-Classical” or “Neo..anything”). We want pieces that challenge a listener to LISTEN and keep them interested, but do not “play down” (dumb-down?) to a seeming lack of sophistication. Today’s listeners are experienced in the World’s music and we publish compositions that reflect that. We are now attempting larger works for chamber and symphonic orchestra.

We publish some string pedagogical works that are, again, innovative and challenging to the player/student. So, if you have a wonderful set of etudes for cello, violin, viola, bass – feel free to submit.

We are also interested in great arrangements of public-domain pieces (such as of Bottesini, or Sperger, or Boccherini, or Bach, etc.). If you have an arrangement of, say, Boccherini cello sonata for bass, send it! Or perhaps an arrangement of Rossini for two cellos and three basses (wow!), send it in!

For all other inquiries, or if you just want a quick opinion about whether your work is publishable by ISG Publications, email to us.
